ERIC EICHINGER is the author of The Final Race, a biography about Eric Liddell, of Chariots of Fire fame, released by Tyndale House Publishers. He earned a B.A. in Theatre from Michigan State University, and ran on the varsity track and field team. Eichinger served for two years in New York as a youth worker, and two years in mainland China as an English teacher where he met his wife, Kara. He was ordained into the office of the holy ministry in 2006 and currently serves as pastor of Bethel Lutheran Church in Clearwater, FL. Eric resides in the Tampa Bay area with his wife, their three children and a feisty dachshund, Doppelbock.

Eichinger is in some ways an unlikely biographer for one of the Christian church’s best-known and beloved figures. Eichinger was a theatre major in college and then became a Lutheran pastor. But like Olympic great Eric Liddell, Eric Eichinger was a track star in high school and ran varsity track at Michigan State University. Eichinger also lived and ministered in China early in his adult career.
